Visit to UCI

Well, yesterday I went and visited UCI to get my coursebooks. To my dismay, they only had three of six (yes, six books for three classes). These three books had to be the thickest, heaviest, and most expensive (mind you, they had few books) in the joint, my Java book cost $78.95!!!

But such is college. I also visited my dorm.... Harrowdale in Middle Earth.... and took some pics of the place:

Also, I am awaiting my [lucky]ATI Radeon 9700[/lucky] which I ordered on August 20th, was shipped on the 23rd and is claimed to arrive on August 5th. WHAT THE...? Is UPS out of its f****** mind?

Lets be rational here. ATI's Canadian interest is located in Ontario, BC and I am located in an undisclosed location near LA. Thats not that far.... Ah... um... how about we let Map Quest do it for us? Ok, Done. Map Quest says it is 2495.69 miles from door to door.... 14 days in total... leads us to...

divide 2495.69 miles by 14 days (miles per day)

drivers generally drive about 12 hours a day, plus transfers... lets say 10 hours per day

divide that by 10 hours per day (miles per hour)

grand total of 17.8 mph.... thats cookin', UPS!

well I hope I get it tomorrow... UPS finally says that it is in Grande Vista, CA.... wherever that is!... and expects it to arrive promptly tomorrow... YAY!

Its tuxie with my new [lucky]Radeon 9700 Pro[/lucky] and Remote Wonder!

UPS finally shipped my package and, thank Gawd, it arrived in two quite large pieces. YAY! I installed it and everything worked as ordered, including my video card, which, after successive benchmarks, scored a 3D Mark (2001 SE) of 12617!!!!! Sweet.

Off to play more games... :)

windows .net server!

well I finally downloaded and installed Windows .net Standard Server RC1... what a wonderful peice of engineering. its much more stable than windows 2000 and downright sexy!

dormming at UCI

well, here I am... at Harrowdale in UCI. My dorm is a nice size... a little small, but it has plenty of floor space. I should have some pics for you guys when we get everything settled. My new address is 543 E. Peltason Drive, Room 324, so if you are in the neighborhood, please come and visit! For now, I'm off to take a shower, and then to breakfast. Have a nice one!

new episode of scrubs... and classes start!

today I saw the season premiere of Scrubs at "Must See M.E." (M.E. stands for Middle Earth). Sarah Chalke was so hot in that bra! *YAY* I'm actively looking for episode 201, but with the limits on KaZaA's bandwith at UCI... this may prove to be difficult. I guess I'll just do it at home.

Classes start tomorrow... and I don't even know where they are! I better go find my classes now so I dont look like a lost freshman :D.
