apathy

I've never felt more apathetic in my life. right now I dont feel like starting on my ICS 52 project (due on Wednesday, btw) or working on any of my side projects, i.e.: mutsuki, a todo app, food.getcoded.net. however, the unfortunate part is that I dont feel like doing nothing... I feel like I should be immersed in something but what, I don't know.

On the good side of things, life is looking up... only 5 weeks to go until HAWAII!!! =D However, that means busting some major arse to get stuff done so that I can keep up my GPA.

Boy, for some reason, I feel oddly inclined to work on my ICS 52 project!! I better ride the wave while I still want to work on it!

aspirations...

I've been reading lots of blogs lately-- even blogs of people I don't know-- and I've come to the conclusion that my blog is all too boring. Lots of funny, stupid and otherwise interesting stuff goes on during my day that, for some unknown and possibly mysterious reason, never gets featured here. Why is this, you may ask? (or more likely, you didn't... but pretend like you did for a moment) Well, its not like I know the exact answer myself, but I have a few ideas...

Short attention span-- Quite to my dismay, I don't have the longest attention span in the world. I get distracted easily and when this happens, I procrastinate like a leprechaun on steroids. This makes my blog entries take HOURS to complete and my train of thought is completely lost. There are so many things that I think I'd rather be doing but when I actually get down to it, I find that I'm surfing the same sites, reading the same articles over and over and over again.

Frequent Classes-- Most of the time, I start blog entries between classes, generally to bitch about the hell that I just went through. Unfortunately, with the 20 units that I'm taking (WWWHHHHYYYY?????), classes start all too frequently so my rants generally get cut off midstream and entries become non-sensical.

Sleep-- Ah, sleep. This is the one thing in life that I can never seem to get enough of. In my dorm, my computer is disturbingly close to my bed, enough so that during the middle of my blog entries (and thrice while writing this one), my body is drawn like a magnet to the sweet, sweet cotton.... mmm... uh, never mind.

So now you know why my blog entries have been so boring. Im going to make an effort from this blog posting to make my entries more involved, funnier and generally more interesting. Sound good?

Oh and I decided to make a list of sweet words that I want to use in my daily vocabulary:

  • Shant
  • Spiff
  • Spiffy
  • Rad
  • Mofo
  • Dag, yo
  • Suck-itude
  • Bodacious
  • tubular
  • richeous
  • radical
  • huzzah!
  • oohpa!
  • foah shooah
  • cowabunga
  • Cut that jibba jabba!
Update (5/6/03): Ooooh... more words!!
  • shindig
  • hootenanny
  • hip
  • hipster
  • urban
  • groovy

productivity soars!!!

hi all!

well today was, contrary to normal trends, a very productive day! I finished my To Do List script today... basically it uses MySQL as a database backend, is written in PHP and allows you to edit, delete and create new todo list entries. It's pretty spiffy and secure to boot! I'll be GPL'ing it soon enough, probably when I add users and authentication (other than cheezy HTTP authentication).

Ironically, my todo list (which was thought to allow me to procrastinate even more) has assisted me to get more things done! For some reason, checking an item off my list gives me a sense of satisfaction... so much so that I knocked 3 items down... kickass! I havent been this productive in many many years =).

Unfortunately, now I need another project... maybe I'll wait on projects until I can finish the 50-80 PAGE paper due for ICS 52... I dont know how I can crank out 50-80 pages with so little content to go off of! Since it is so huge, i've got to start on saturday (prime bumming-out-and-generally-doing-nothing day)... WHY? My saturdays are the only sacred day left!!! I'm starting to regret signing up for 20 units... silly me.
