a quickie for teh groupies

I don't really have the time for a real post right now... I _really_ should be doing math homework, but oh well.

Aaron's post about Google Image Search Memes pushed me to spend a little bit googling my name. And the funny thing is, Jon's "Brads Most Embarassing Photos" didn't appear anywhere whereas a search for Jon will give you this wonderful sight on page 27 or result number ONE if you search for Jon and Embarassing. Me: INT_MAX, Jon: 0.

So back to the whole Google Meme... here are some of the interesting pics I found.

What is this? The ISLE OF BRAD???!!! So, erm... when is my knighting ceremony?

This guy gives new meaning to All American Badass. New life goal. Become this guy. ::giddy laughter::

"You're next, kid."

I also want to mention that I landed a research position with UCI's Visualization group working with Ms. Mari Cruz Villa Uriol, a doctorate student who is researching the generation of kinematic models from video and images, very similiar to her previous work on the generation of static avatars. It's pretty spiffy. I'm not sure what I'll be doing, but whatever it is, it will be fun and cool.

Yet I digress. I better get back to doing some actual work before I have to hurt myself.

Oh and for those of you who dont know, INT_MAX is 2^32 = 4,294,967,295.

**Correction, INT_MAX is really 2^32 - 1. I had it correct on the right...

all I can taste is champagne...

Another quickie here... I really should be working on my ICS 121 project, but I thought this was pretty hillarious.

So, the other day I decided to do a rigorous cleaning of my keyboard. Usually, this entails prying off all of the keys, cleaning each one individually with windex, blowing out the membrane with canned air, cleaning it with q-tips and isopropyl alcohol and putting the whole mess back together. Normally, I'm able to pretty quickly put the keys back with my extensive knowledge of where everything goes, but I guess I made a little mistake...

(Sorry for the poor quality of the picture,
I was too lazy to get out my digital camera)

I kept thinking to myself... Hmm, I guess gnome changed the keybindings from Ctrl+T for new tab in epiphany to Alt+T. Boy was I wrong.

In other news, I found out that Verizon staff have translated their English website into Latin...

...And I also made a homage to my ICS 121 professor in her favorite medium... LEGO!!!1

Maybe I should worry about this getting googled.

studying turns me on...

...if by on, you mean off.

Oh boy.

School has been an utter suckfest recently. Not only have I had projects in most every class, except Astronomy and Math, thankfully, but finals are now beginning. What is it about the end of the quarter that drives professors to make the irrational decision of assigning massive amounts of work?
Do they like the pain of grading the veritable swarm of papers, projects, quizzes and homework assignments that they assign just days before they must turn in grades? Do they derive a sadistic sort of pleasure out of making students stay up late, ditch all their other classes and, more importantly, focus entirely on their class for a day or more? Is this some sort of elitist fetish, similar to those who always want to be "on top" and "in control"? Its sickening.

The good news is that I survived my ICS 121 final, but the bad news is that I still have 3 finals to go-- ICS 141, Astronomy and Math. Oh joy.

Once all these shenanigans have been slain and superlatives stupified, I will embark on my 7 day journey (or 6 hour tour) to Boston, capitol of cold, curmudgeons and one, Aaron Braver. We have our whole vacation planned out, including the frequent bathroom breaks Aaron will need to survive.

It really should be fun. Also, Aaron tells me that we are going to see a Rocky Horror Picture Show one of these days, which, for the life of me, I cannot remember. Its fun not remembering stuff, especially when that includes where you put all the excitement for school. That'd be a nice thing to find, seeing as its been lost since 3rd grade.

That and the hundred-thousand or so dollars I made in the dot com era. I want to find that. And my sanity. Thats kind of important.
